Greenwells Glory 2 Size 14

The Greenwell's Glory Size 14 is a brilliant, historic British dry fly created by James Wright for Canon William Greenwell in 1854. Its enduring value comes from its ability to suggest an olive dun rather than match one species with excessive detail.

Use it for trout and grayling during hatches of medium-sized olive upwinged flies on rivers. Present it upstream on a tapered leader and prioritise a drag-free drift through feeding lanes, riffle edges and glides. The size 14 profile is most appropriate when it matches the naturals present; choose a smaller or larger pattern if the hatch demands it.
